As Aura shifts gears into the nightscape, enter the strange world of Metrist at your peril. Metrist is without a doubt one of the most exciting voices in contemporary UK bass music. His trilogy of EPs on Timedance presents bass and techno at its most unconventional, a series of explosive productions that instantly sends dancefloors into a tailspin. Pollen Pt III is a brilliant example; sounding like a UK tinged mutation of juke or footwork. It’s dizzying, elastic, and impossible to wrap your head around. With a full hour of his own productions, this one won’t be for the faint of heart. Expect nerve-wracking tension and cataclysmic drops, a full-throttle descent into disturbed territory.
