Following their collaborative record released on Bristol imprint Accidental Meetings earlier this year, Devon Rexi and John T. Gast are gracing Aura with their bubbling, bass-heavy incantations. Post-punk, psych funk, kraut rock and no-wave can all be heard in the dub-heavy arrangements of Devon Rexi. Fried-Farsi vocals croon over potent basslines, scattered drum patterns, and warm guitar riffs. John T Gast is the elusive British producer who has reached cult status in the experimental circuit. He moves between distortion and sentimentality with graceful dexterity. It’s a rhythmically exciting sound. Dancing between melodic chaos and gritty, chopped-up percussion, this is the perfect sonic stew for an afternoon breather.
